Fresh Start

Hi All,

I have new plans for this blog if you are willing to stick with me through my blogging journey. I plan on uploading at least one blog post a week on Sunday nights. The blog posts will consist of original short stories that I have written or notes on books that I have read and/or plan on reading. Sometimes I may even post little snippets of the novel that I am working on. I wrote the novel during NaNoWriMo and I hope to get it published by the end of 2013. It’s a far-fetched goal, but there is always room for hope. 

This week I read “Crewel” by Gennifer Albin. I thought that the premise for the book was really interesting. It’s about a girl who can see the threads of life and time in her world and weave it into whatever she wants to create. That’s the basic synopsis of the book, but it is so much more complicated than that. It is the first book in a series and I definitely cannot wait for the second book. There were some things that I had a little trouble understanding, but overall I loved the book. If you like to read dystopian novels with fantasy and romance mixed in you should give the book a try. 

I also wrote a flash fiction story titled “UnSettled” for an event that Elena Jacob over at http://ravenhartassociates.com/ hosted. You can find Elena on twitter as twitter.com/elenajacob . It was a very fun event to participate in and I loved writing my ghost story.

Elena has posted other ghost stories that people have written for her Flash Fiction Event that are well worth reading.
